It wasn't that Opalfrost didn’t trust Sootbird. She certainly did, but this was not the first time she had scented Bloodclan too close to the border for comfort. On the previous day’s border patrol, when Opalfrost had noted the recurring scent to her clanmate, he had brushed it off hastily. She couldn't blame him, she was hungry as well and wanted to get back to camp to enjoy a plump hare and share tongues with her clanmates. She assumed that Sootbird had forgotten all about it by now, but she hadn't and being territorial as she was, wanted to inspect the border more thoroughly without having anyone usher her away. Opalfrost sat near the mouth of the warrior’s den her nose curled up in disgust as the Lostclan cats filed in. She couldn’t bear the scent infiltrating their camp and hoped to Starclan that they would be building their own dens. How would she be able to breathe through the night otherwise? Her muscles were stiff, claws dug into the earth, and ears plastered to the top of her head.
